why process art is important for children?
Process art is an open-ended approach to creativity that prioritises the experience of making art over the final product. This method allows children to explore materials freely, make independent decisions, and express themselves without the constraints of specific outcomes. Engaging in process art fosters essential skills such as fine motor development, hand-eye coordination, and spatial awareness. As children manipulate the materials like cardboard and tape for example, they not only enhance their creative expression, but also engage in decision-making and problem-solving.
This kind of play allows children to experiment with ideas, follow their curiosity, and build confidence in their ability to make choices.
In the same way that play is a child’s work, art-making serves as a language for children to express thoughts and emotions for which they may not yet have the words. Through these experiences, children also develop social and emotional skills, such as patience, perseverance, and self-regulation
Process art promotes a flexible mindset among children, it promotes innovation and exploration. It encourages children to deeply engage with materials, problem-solve, test out their own theories, and trust themselves, ultimately fostering creative confidence and a lifelong love for learning.

Meet the founder
My daughter is the inspiration and the reason we created Playful Art Club. It all started when I discovered a book about process art. I fell in love with the concept! I made an art corner for my daughter at home and we started doing workshops almost every day. She loved it too! Then I started inviting our friends’ kids to the workshops, and quickly I realized: I need a bigger space! So I started looking for a place in town. In the meantime, I continued process art workshops with children. And after a lot of work, long nights and early mornings, here we are!
I believe that every child who comes into this world is already an artist. An artist, full of wonder, curiosity and joy. Unafraid to experiment, to create, to discover. It is my aspiration in life to preserve these beautiful, fragile qualities in children and help adults to re-connect with that childlike sense of wonder. And so, I created a place where everyone can do just that. A place where children as well as adults can immerse themselves in the amazing world of process art without limits, rules, or instructions. After all, art is play and play is joy!
